Preschool

Mission

Mt. Olive Lutheran exists to reach all in our church and community with the knowledge of Jesus as their Savior, to provide students with a quality Christian education, and to encourage families in their Christian living.

Philosophy

God gives parents the primary responsibility of raising and nurturing children. At Mt. Olive Lutheran Preschool, we strive to assist parents in giving children a loving, Christian environment to help children with their development. Our preschool will work to meet the child’s spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner.

Goals for your child

R
To grow in their faith as a loved child of God.
R
To extend their learning through scaffolded play-based learning.
R
To expand their social skills to prepare for kindergarten.

Curriculum

At Mt. Olive Lutheran School, our Preschool program uses The Creative Curriculum, a research-based, play-focused approach that supports the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Through hands-on exploration, guided play, and intentional instruction, children build foundational skills in language, early literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts. Learning experiences are designed to spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and develop independence in a joyful, nurturing environment.

The Creative Curriculum emphasizes:

  • Learning through play and discovery

  • Strong development of social-emotional skills

  • Age-appropriate academic readiness

  • Purposeful routines that build confidence and responsibility

At Mt. Olive, we intentionally integrate Christian values and faith-based learning into our preschool day. Children learn that they are loved by God, created with purpose, and called to love and serve others. Daily prayer, Bible stories, and Christ-centered conversations help lay a strong spiritual foundation alongside academic growth. Our Bible Story Curriculum utilizes Christ Light-a series of 48 Bible Stories for Preschoolers which we pair with weekly songs and memory verses. We assess twice a year through teach observations and anecdotes to get a realistic portrait of your child’s progress.
